An expressive 18th century giltwood mirror, likely Italian, with richly carved foliate corners and a deeply aged surface that speaks to centuries of use.

The frame retains traces of its original parcel gilding over red bole, now softened through time, revealing a patina that cannot be replicated. The central mercury glass plate has developed a beautifully mottled foxing, diffusing reflection and lending a quiet quality.
