Thick, expressive strokes of lavender, blue, ochre and green form a distant landscape beneath a wonderfully pale, atmospheric sky. The paint has been worked heavily across the surface, giving this petite piece remarkable depth when viewed up close.
Signed lower left and presented in its vintage gilt and ivory frame.
We found this one in France and loved it precisely for its scale. Small enough to tuck into a bookshelf or layer into a gallery wall, but with enough texture and color to hold its own.
